Central province schools close from Monday over A-H1N1

Thursday Nov 19, 2009
All schools in the Central Province will close from Monday over fears the A-H1N1 virus is spreading in the area, Central province governor Tikiri Kobakaduwa told Daily Mirror online. He said the school vacation which is scheduled for December 9 will be given early with the school closure.

The Governor said that 6 children and 3 pregnant women have died in the province so far and this resulted in the decision to close schools in the province as a precautionary measure. He added that a circular over the school closure will be issued to the schools tomorrow.
