Lanka to utilize indigenous medicine for oral hygiene: Health Minister

The Asian Pacific Dental Congress which met in Colombo today conferred its chairmanship to Sri Lanka’s Professor Prasad Amaratunga.

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena who was among the special invitees stated in his address that dental care was an important aspect and is being given prominence even at school level. Many school children suffer dental or oral ailments.

Sri Lanka plans to utilize the age old indigenous medical practices as well to combat these ailments, Health Minister Sirisena added.
