SL medical team to assist Pakistan flood victims

A 17 member medical team is to arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday to assist in the ongoing flood relief in Pakistan, states the Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad.

The team headed by Deputy Director of the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital Dr. Vijitha Gunasekera includes three other specialist doctors, nurses and pharmacists specially trained in emergency medical care.

The Sri Lankan team is to work in liaison with the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan, the HC further states.
